Chapin has been on the road for three straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Jefferson Silver Foxes at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Chapin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday.
Last Friday, Chapin's game was all tied up 12-12 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They managed a 35-31 win over Andress.
Chapin's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Samantha Wise, who scored 12 points along with eight steals. Wise hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. Gabrielle Rogers was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Jefferson's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 16th straight loss. They took a serious blow against Burges, falling 85-10. While losing is never fun, Jefferson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1443rd, while Burges is ranked 144th).
Chapin's victory bumped their record up to 10-16. As for Jefferson, they bumped their record down to 3-19 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Chapin against Jefferson when the teams last played on January 5th as the squad secured a 64-11 win. Will Chapin repeat their success, or does Jefferson have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
