After three weeks of the regular season in high school baseball, there have now been three different No. 1 teams in the MaxPreps Top 25 after
Calvary Christian (Clearwater, Fla.) moved to the top spot following a loss by
JSerra Catholic (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.) to
Cypress (Calif.).
Calvary Christian, which started the season at No. 3, moved to No. 2 last week and takes over the top spot with a 5-0 record. JSerra Catholic, which dropped to 3-1 with a two-game split against Cypress, dropped to No. 9.
Parkview (Lilburn, Ga.), the preseason and first week No. 1 team, dropped out of the rankings altogether following two losses at the Perfect Game Showdown to
Providence School (Jacksonville, Fla.) and
Catholic (Baton Rouge, La.).

North Broward Prep (Coconut Creek, Fla.) 6. In a battle between two nationally-ranked teams at the Perfect Game Showdown in Hoover, Ala., Houston County's Kai Decker drove in the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth to break a 6-6 tie. Decker then struck out the side in order in the top of the seventh to get the win.
Player of the Week: Mason Green,
Cypress Woods (Cypress, Texas). Threw a no-hitter against The Woodlands with nine strikeouts.
Game to watch: Orange Lutheran (Orange, Calif.) vs.
Santa Margarita (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.). The Lancers begin Trinity League play against the Eagles with games on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Both teams have just one loss. Orange Lutheran won the Trinity League last year, sweeping the season series with the fourth-place Eagles.
Streaks: Providence (Charlotte, N.C.) lost the season opener to end its 34-game win streak.
Sinton (Texas), meanwhile, won five more games to stretch its win streak to 40 games in a row. That's the sixth-longest active streak in the nation. The top five teams on the list have not started play for the 2022-23 season.
