The Nordonia Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Brecksville-Broadview Heights Bees at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Nordonia will be strutting in after a win while Brecksville-Broadview Heights will be coming in after a loss.
Last Friday, Nordonia took their game at home with ease, bagging a 41-10 victory over Stow-Munroe Falls. With Nordonia ahead 27-2 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Nordonia's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ben Chesser, who threw for 295 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.9 yards per attempt. Gino Perrine was in the mix too, providing Nordonia with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Brecksville-Broadview Heights fell victim to Twinsburg's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were the victim of a rough 21-0 defeat at the hands of the Tigers. Having soared to a lofty 35 points in the game before, Brecksville-Broadview Heights couldn't push the score so high this time.
Even if they lost, Brecksville-Broadview Heights' defense still kept up the pressure with nine sacks. It was a group effort, with three picking up two apiece.
Nordonia has been no stranger to the win column this season, as they've started out with wins in seven of their first nine games, giving them a 7-2 record. As for Brecksville-Broadview Heights, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 5-4.
Everything came up roses for Nordonia against Brecksville-Broadview Heights when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 45-7 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Nordonia since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
