The Abbeville Christian Academy Generals had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They managed a 49-45 win over Ezekiel Academy on Thursday. The victory was just what Abbeville Christian Academy needed coming off of a 51-31 loss in their prior contest.
Abbeville Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Anna grace Blalock led the charge by dropping a double-double on 28 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Blalock has scored at least a third of Abbeville Christian Academy's points. Amari George was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds.
Ezekiel Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Addi Newell, who scored 18 points along with two steals. Newell continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gianna Johnson, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Abbeville Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Ezekiel Academy, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-4.
Abbeville Christian Academy will be playing at home against Lakeside School at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Ezekiel Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge East Central HomeSchool at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. East Central HomeSchool will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
