Greater Dakota recap October 8, 2013
Lincoln's Matt Wagner recorded the longest rushing play in Greater Dakota this season in his game against Stevens last week. Wagner ran for 80 yards on the play and finished with 104 on the day as his team bested the Raiders.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Lincoln beat Stevens 49-10. The win marks sixth in a row for the Aaron Beavers' team.
The Patriots' offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Isiah Roach threw for 117 and 1 touchdown and Trevor Naasz had 61 yards receiving. On the ground Caden Quintanilla contributed 136 yards. Dylan Bartow helped Lincoln's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 22 yards.
Roach put up the best numbers in passing as Lincoln topped Scott Hagen's team. Roach's favorite target this week was Naasz, who caught 5 passes for 61 yards.
Lincoln's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Patriots feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Connor Burchill has thrown for 740 yards and 8 touchdowns this season, while Naasz has 18 catches for 315 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Washington and Rapid City Central. The Warriors enters the game ranked 19th in the state, while the Cobblers ranks 18th.
The Patriots' Quintanilla is a mere 10 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. In 143 carries Quintanilla has put up 990 yards this year.
Lincoln led Greater Dakota in scoring this week by notching 49 points on the Raiders. Roach ran for 21 yards in the win.
