Softball Recap: Lakes Wins Going Away Against Round Lake

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lakes). Everything went their way against the Round Lake Panthers on Tuesday as they made off with an 11-1 victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Rae Carraro was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. She also put up two RBI, which were her first of the season. Eryn Oleson was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.

Lakes is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Round Lake, their loss was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakes will take on Lake Zurich at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Round Lake, they will face off against Grayslake North at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
