The South Oldham Dragons will venture away from home to face off against the Elizabethtown Panthers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. South Oldham is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
South Oldham was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against DuPont Manual on Thursday. The Dragons put the hurt on the Crimsons with a sharp 10-2 win. Surprisingly, this marked the Dragons' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
Hailey Fackler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

Lauren Young

| 04/02/25 vs Owensboro | 2 |

On the hitting side, Lauren Young was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucy Knabel, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: South Oldham kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as DuPont Manual only managed five hits.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Elizabethtown challenged Taylor County on Friday. The Panthers came out on top against the Cardinals by a score of 5-1. The victory was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on three straight.
Taytum Spiers was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and not a single walk). Spiers was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alyssa Philpot, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one double.
Elizabethtown now has a winning record of 6-5. As for South Oldham, their record now sits at 7-9.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Saturday. South Oldham hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Elizabethtown struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
South Oldham might still be hurting after the 8-2 defeat they got from Elizabethtown in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Dragons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
