Grapeland's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aliyah Tryon , who scored 14 points along with five rebounds. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Mikayla Woods, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Grapeland is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-8 record this season. As for Groveton, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-17.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grapeland will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Centerville at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th. Centerville is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. As for Groveton, they will head out on the road to face off against Lovelady at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Lovelady presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Groveton in Texas (Lovelady is ranked 329th, while Groveton is ranked 1163rd).
