Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot (Powhatan, Va.) took the final lead of the game on Saturday as
Jake Waldrop ran for a touchdown with with less than a minute remaining in the second quarter, bringing the team to victory over
Isle of Wight Academy (Isle of Wight, Va.) 28-19.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Waldrop in the second quarter, the Knights led 14-12 at the half.
Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot grew its lead to nine points entering the fourth quarter. BSH scored two times in the third, including once on a kick return touchdown by
Chandler Emberlin.
The Powhatan school led by as many as 16 points before the Chargers cut into the final margin.
A 25-16 Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The loss was the third in a row for Isle of Wight Academy.
Isle of Wight Academy (4-4) will play a non-conference game against Atlantic Shores Christian next week, while Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot (7-1) will take on Roanoke Catholic also in a non-conference game.
