The Pecos Eagles will take on the Seminole Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pecos has given up an average of 8.6 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Friday just wasn't the day for Pecos' offense. They came up short against Greenwood on Friday, falling 16-0. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Rangers recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
Meanwhile, Seminole beat Monahans 8-3 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Loboes: they've now won four in a row.
Rowin Donaldson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted two doubles, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, Seminole let Obed Reyes and Derek Madrid run wild. Reyes went 1-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Madrid scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most stolen bases Madrid has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Stephen Davis, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Seminole's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Pecos, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-15.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Pecos hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .374. However, it's not like Seminole struggles in that department as they've averaged .330. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
