The Lake Hornets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their tenth straight defeat. They fell just short of Clarkdale by a score of 57-54. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lake in their matchups with Clarkdale: they've now lost three in a row.
Clarkdale was led to victory by Connor Mcdill and Cade Culpepper. Mcdill scored 18 points along with seven rebounds, while Culpepper scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Culpepper is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ladonya Adams, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.
Lake has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 15 of their last 16 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season. As for Clarkdale, the win got them back to even at 12-12.
Lake does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Clarkdale, they will head out on the road to take on Newton at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Newton will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Clarkdale surely won't give up without a fight.
