The Wrangell Wolves won the last time they faced the Petersburg Vikings, and things went their way on Saturday too. Wrangell skirted past Petersburg 40-37. The win made it back-to-back wins for Wrangell.
Wrangell found their leader in underclassman Alana Harrison , who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Wynne, who scored eight points.
Wrangell's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-5 Petersburg and 0-4 Petersburg (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 0% over those games). As for Petersburg, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wrangell will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Metlakatla on January 19th. Petersburg and Haines will face off on January 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
