The Blue Ridge Christian Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Northeast Kansas Nighthawks HomeSchool Nighthawks at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Blue Ridge Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday.
Last Friday, Blue Ridge Christian took a serious blow against Heritage Christian, falling 47-14. Blue Ridge Christian was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Despite the loss, Blue Ridge Christian saw an underclassman step up: Risa Johnson scored four points along with ten rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Northeast Kansas Nighthawks HomeSchool had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They strolled past Cornerstone Family with points to spare, taking the game 46-30.
Laurel Schwensen and Sami Baum were among the main playmakers for Northeast Kansas Nighthawks HomeSchool as the former scored 12 points and the latter scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Amy Holloway, who scored eight points.
Blue Ridge Christian's loss was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Northeast Kansas Nighthawks HomeSchool, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
Blue Ridge Christian was dealt a bruising 51-14 loss at the hands of Northeast Kansas Nighthawks HomeSchool in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Blue Ridge Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
