Softball Recap: Sanger Has No Trouble Against Denison

Sanger was not the first on the board on Tuesday, but they got there more often. Everything went their way against the Denison Yellow Jackets as the Sanger Indians made off with a 9-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won four games by six runs or more so far this season.

Chelsea Walton was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Tarryn Liechty, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Sanger was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Denison only posted a batting average of .062.

Sanger now has a winning record of 5-4-1. As for Denison, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.

Looking ahead, Sanger will face off against Pearce at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Sanger's favor as the team sits on eight straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Pearce has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road. As for Denison, they will square off against Aubrey at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Aubrey will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Denison surely won't give up without a fight.
