The Langley Saxons waltzed into their game on Wednesday with nine straight wins but they left with ten. They came out on top against Washington-Liberty by a score of 48-37. Given Langley's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Generals are ranked 106th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Langley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bri Borcherding, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds. Vicky Zawisza was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Langley's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-1. As for Washington-Liberty, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Langley will take on the Highlanders at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Washington-Liberty, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Patriots at 7:30 p.m.
