Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Winnfield beat Ruston 54-48 on Monday. The victory was just what Winnfield needed coming off of a 72-33 defeat in their prior game.
It was another big night for Decavian Duncan, who scored 18 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Winnfield's points. Craig St Cyr was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
Marksville now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Winnfield, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
Marksville strolled past Winnfield in their previous matchup back in February of 2017 by a score of 57-40. Will Marksville repeat their success, or does Winnfield have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
