Basketball Game Preview: Bensalem Fighting Owls vs. Harry S. Truman Tigers

Bensalem is 9-1 against Harry S. Truman since February of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Bensalem Fighting Owls will be playing in front of their home fans against the Harry S. Truman Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Bensalem is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.8 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Bensalem strolled past Pennsbury with points to spare, taking the game 57-39. Given the Fighting Owls' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 154th, while the Falcons are ranked 339th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bensalem relied on the efforts of Amir Drummond, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine assists, and Aidan Mayfield, who posted 14 points and seven rebounds. Drummond's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jacob Eberhardt, who earned 11 points.

Meanwhile, Harry S. Truman hadn't done well against Council Rock South recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Harry S. Truman pulled ahead with a 51-50 photo finish over Council Rock South. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Bensalem's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Harry S. Truman, their victory ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-3.
