This season hasn't been kind to The Hi-Plains Patriots, who are still winless after their eighth matchup. They were beaten by Idalia 73-6 on Friday. Hi-Plains was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 60-6.
Gabe Kechter was his usual excellent self, rushing for 74 yards and a touchdown, while also catching a touchdown. Tarek Glanz made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Hi-Plains' defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 0-8. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Idalia, Peetz, and Arickaree. As for Idalia, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.
Hi-Plains will be playing at home against Prairie at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Prairie is ranked 43rd, while Hi-Plains is ranked 68th). As for Idalia, they will head out on the road to face off against Eads at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Eads is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
