It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Vincent Memorial Scots had no problem doing just that on Friday. Everything went their way against Hoover as Vincent Memorial made off with a 47-21 win. Vincent Memorial might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won five matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Vincent Memorial to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jacobo Elias, who threw for 285 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Joel Cervantes, who rushed for 125 yards and two touchdowns.
Vincent Memorial has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Hoover, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
Vincent Memorial will face off against Sweetwater at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive. Hoover does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
