The Woodward Polar Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 92-38 loss at the hands of Lima Senior. While losing is never fun, Woodward can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 680th, while Lima Senior is ranked 203rd).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lima Senior to victory, but perhaps none more so than Shawn Foster, who scored 19 points along with three steals. The matchup was Foster's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jekel Cotton, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds.
Woodward's defeat was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-4. As for Lima Senior, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Woodward won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Genoa Area at 7:30 p.m. on December 16th. Lima Senior will be home for the holidays to greet Bellbrook at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday.
