South River had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 38 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Southern Bulldogs 72-15. The Seahawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 20 points or more this season.

South River pushed their record up to 14-6 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.4 points over those games. As for Southern, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

Looking ahead, South River will face off against Northeast at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South River has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Southern, they have already played their next contest, a 49-21 victory against North County on the 15th.
