Baseball Recap: Riverview East Academy Comes Up Short

If Riverview East Academy was riding high fresh off their 12-1 takedown of Spencer Center on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hawks fell 8-5 to the Hughes BIG RED on Friday. The Hawks have struggled against the BIG RED recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Ayden Manase made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with seven stolen bases and three runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Elias Brown, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Riverview East Academy now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Hughes, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Riverview East Academy will challenge rival Gamble Montessori at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Hughes is set to take on their familiar foe Taft at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
