The Ridgevue Warhawks will face off against the Capital Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ridgevue is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
Ridgevue gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They blew past Borah 17-3. The Warhawks have beaten the Lions the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Lions has come to flipping the script.
Ridgevue got a great performance from Hunter Schmittel as he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). Those eight strikeouts gave Schmittel a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Branson Dance was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dante Brinegar, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
Ridgevue always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .611. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Owyhee hit Capital with a five-run sixth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles came up short against the Storm, falling 7-1. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Storm recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.
Capital saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Cloninger, who went 1-for-3 with one double.
The win got Ridgevue back to even at 7-7. As for Capital, they now have a losing record of 8-9.
Ridgevue got the 'W' when the teams last played back in May of 2025 against Capital by a conclusive 9-1 score. Do the Warhawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
