Baseball Recap: Wasatch Has No Trouble Against Hurricane

Wasatch barely beat Hurricane the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wasatch Wasps put the hurt on the Hurricane Tigers with a sharp 12-6 win on Saturday. The Wasps haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Blake Sweat was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Otis Sweat, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

Blake wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Wasatch kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive contests.

Wasatch's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Hurricane, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-3 record.

Looking ahead, Wasatch will square off against Richfield at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hurricane, they will take on Highland at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hurricane has given up an average of 6.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
