Basketball Game Preview: Freeman Flyers vs. Tripp-Delmont/Armour Nighthawks

The Freeman Flyers will head out to challenge the Tripp-Delmont/Armour Nighthawks at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Freeman is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.4 points per game this season.

Freeman will bounce into Saturday's game after beating Bridgewater/Emery, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Freeman managed a 66-62 win over Bridgewater/Emery on Thursday. 66 seems to be a good number for the Flyers as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

David Walter continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on 28 points and nine rebounds. Those 28 points gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tate Sorensen, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.

Meanwhile, Tripp-Delmont/Armour got the win against Kimball/White Lake on Tuesday by a conclusive 64-39. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Nighthawks.

Freeman's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.4 points per game. As for Tripp-Delmont/Armour, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Freeman was able to grind out a solid victory over Tripp-Delmont/Armour when the teams last played back in February of 2019, winning 70-62. The rematch might be a little tougher for Freeman since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
