Rockcastle County extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 16-15-1. They blew past the Knox Central Panthers 13-3. Considering the Rockets have won ten matchups by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Rayleigh Hancock made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Hancock was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Macy Spivey was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Sadie Osborne, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Rockcastle County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .480. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Knox Central only posted a batting average of .211.
As for Knox Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-14. They haven't had much luck with Rockcastle County recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
On Knox Central's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kendell Williamson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Bailey Hubbard was another, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Coming up, Rockcastle County will welcome Corbin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Rockets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Redhounds have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season. As for Knox Central, they are taking a road trip to challenge Jackson County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
