The Genesis Prep Academy Jaguars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Lakeside, falling 101-43. While losing is never fun, Genesis Prep Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while Lakeside is ranked 31st).
Lakeside's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tyson Charley, who scored 19 points along with eight steals. Charley is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Liam Hendrix, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and five assists.
Genesis Prep Academy's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-5. As for Lakeside, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Genesis Prep Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Sandpoint at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lakeside will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Genesis Prep Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 27th.
