Basketball Recap: Northwest Catholic Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Northwest Catholic waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They were the clear victor by a 66-41 margin over the Newington Nor'easters. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 20 points or more this season.

Newington's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kendall Miller, who posted ten points in addition to six steals and five assists. Miller has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Juliana Flores, who had nine points and seven boards.

Northwest Catholic pushed their record up to 18-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points over those games. As for Newington, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 12-9 record this season.

Northwest Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Newington, they will take on Bristol Central at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
