The Paradise Bobcats will head out to square off against the Colusa RedHawks at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
The home team had come away the winner the last four times Paradise and Pierce had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Bobcats skirted past the Bears 7-6.
Grace Meldrum was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Maggiemae Stratton was excellent, scoring a run while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashley Gandolfi, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases.
Meanwhile, Colusa had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Warriors a 14-0 shutout. Considering the RedHawks have won nine matches by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Not much got past Ava Garcia, who gave up just a hit and racked up 12 Ks to keep Winters off the board. Those 12 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Garcia.
At the plate, Braelyn Santana was a standout: she scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Aliah Ramirez was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.
Colusa was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Paradise's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-7. As for Colusa, their record is now 10-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Paradise has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Colusa struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
