The Antigo Red Robins lost against the Mosinee Indians back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Antigo was beaten by Mosinee 71-18. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Antigo has scored all season.
Mosinee's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Landen Thomer, who almost dropped a triple-double on 13 points, nine rebounds, and 12 assists. The match was Thomer's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Keagen Jirschele, who scored 15 points along with six steals and five assists.
Antigo has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Mosinee, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.
Antigo will head out on the road to face off against Medford at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Medford is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Mosinee will be home for the holidays to greet Northland Pines at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Northland Pines is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
