Glenns Ferry extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 1-15. They lost 24-1 to the Declo Hornets. The Pilots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.
Dom Guerrero made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.
As for Declo, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by eight runs or more this season.
On Declo's side, Race Zollinger and Cade Miller made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Zollinger pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Miller struck out seven batters over 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk). Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. At bat, Zollinger went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double, while Miller got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Trevin Averett, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Bott, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.
Glenns Ferry didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-6 defeat against Idaho City on the 18th. As for Declo, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 17-2 loss against Firth on the 18th.
