The Watauga Pioneers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 24 points or more this season. They blew past Reagan 65-41. Winning may never get old, but Watauga sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Watauga was led to victory by Kate Sears and Charlotte Torgerson. Sears scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and eight assists, while Torgerson went 7 for 14 from beyond the arc en route to 25 points and 3 assists. The matchup was Sears' fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Lawrence, who scored five points.
Watauga's win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. As for Reagan, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
Watauga will be home for the holidays to greet Mountain Heritage at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Mountain Heritage focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday. As for Reagan, they will head out on the road to face off against Glenn at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Glenn has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 18.
