After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cascade, the Astoria Fishermen were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They secured a 75-69 W over Scappoose. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the defeat, Scappoose had strong showings from Colton Sprenger, who scored 14 points along with two steals, and Elijah Greenan Biggs, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Drew Butler, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds.
Astoria's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for Scappoose, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-6.
Astoria will head out on the road to challenge Scappoose at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Scappoose, they will be playing at home against Seaside at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
