Severa Haney spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Emma Rustin was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. Paityn Suber was another key player, scoring a run and stealing four bases while going 1-for-3.
Wewahitchka kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Franklin County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They skirted past Liberty County 5-4.
Franklin County also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Sarah Ham gave up three earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks.
On the hitting side, Franklin County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mateah McClendon, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
Franklin County pushed their record up to 2-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Wewahitchka, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
Wewahitchka's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's matchup. Wewahitchka has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.5 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Franklin County, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Wewahitchka continue to outrun the ball?
