If the Sports Leadership & Management Bulls were feeling good off their 51-9 takedown of the Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon Pirate last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Sports Leadership & Management fell 55-44 to The Meadows School on Thursday. Sports Leadership & Management was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as The Meadows School apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
Sports Leadership & Management lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tavara Swonger, who scored ten points along with five steals. Swonger hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Dennise Fleming, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
The Meadows School's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tessa Lalanne, who scored 18 points along with two blocks. That's the first time this season that Lalanne posted two or more blocks. Alexa Carambas was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Sports Leadership & Management's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for The Meadows School, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-3.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas the next time they take the court. The Meadows School will head out to face Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Sports Leadership & Management will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
