If the Lockhart Lions were feeling good off their 59-32 takedown of the Ingleside Mustangs on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Lockhart took a 54-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lytle on Friday. It was the first time this season that Lockhart let down their fans at home.
Calyssa Sevier was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 12 steals for Lytle. That makes it 15 consecutive games in which Sevier has scored at least 25% of Lytle's points. Arianna Garcia was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Lockhart has yet to win a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 7-5 record. As for Lytle, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-3.
Lockhart will square off against Roma at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Roma's defense has only allowed 27.9 points per game this season, so Lockhart's offense will have their work cut out for Lockhart. Lytle will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Navarro at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st. Navarro presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lytle in Texas (Navarro is ranked 140th, while Lytle is ranked 295th).
