Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Slaton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They blew past Idalou 14-4 on Saturday. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by six runs or more this season.
Allison Ortiz was a standout: she scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamryn Barrera, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Slaton pushed their record up to 11-7 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 9.67 hits in those games compared to only 5.25 in the others. As for Muleshoe, their victory bumped their record up to 13-6.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Muleshoe hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Slaton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.8 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
