The Camden County Wildcats are on the road again on Friday and play against the Walton Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on December 1st. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Camden County had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They enjoyed a cozy 39-20 win over Mill Creek on Friday.
Camden County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Antonio Laws, who rushed for 95 yards and three touchdowns. Camden County also got a significant boost from Jaden Dailey, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 168 yards.
Meanwhile, Walton put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Carrollton as Walton made off with a 56-35 victory. The result was nothing new for Walton, who have now won 12 matches by 20 points or more so far this season.
Walton's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Makari Bodiford, who gained 141 total yards and four touchdowns, and Jeremy Hecklinski, who threw for 370 yards and three touchdowns while completing 91.7% of his passes. Hecklinski hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for four straight games. Hunter Teal was another key contributor, picking up 73 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Camden County pushed their record up to 10-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Walton, their win bumped their record up to 13-0.
Camden County might still be hurting after the 40-20 defeat they got from Walton when the teams last played back in November of 2018. Can Camden County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
