The Academy of the Holy Names Jaguars can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent game on Tuesday. They breezed by Carrollwood Day at home to the tune of 63-25. The win was familiar territory for Academy of the Holy Names who now have three in a row.
It was another big night for Lucy Morey, who scored 31 points along with nine steals and six assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Grace Gavin was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with two steals.
Carrollwood Day's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Gianna Miller, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and two steals, and Leighann Hanley who scored four points along with nine rebounds. Hanley hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games.
Academy of the Holy Names pushed their record up to 14-7 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Carrollwood Day, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
Academy of the Holy Names will take on Wiregrass Ranch at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wiregrass Ranch will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while Academy of the Holy Names is ranked 76th). As for Carrollwood Day, Carrollwood Day and Land O' Lakes will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
