Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Central Heights Vikings, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a 23-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of Olpe on Friday. Central Heights has not had much luck with Olpe recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Central Heights' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Brycean Velez, who picked up 145 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Brody Roullett who threw for 162 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 passes. Velez's longest reception was for an incredible 73 yards.
Central Heights' loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Olpe, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-2.
Central Heights does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Olpe will take on Jefferson County North at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jefferson County North is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
