The East Clarendon Wolverines suffered their closest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They fell just short of Latta by a score of 56-53. East Clarendon has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Latta to victory, but perhaps none more so than Amir Rogers, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Rogers has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Jones, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.
East Clarendon's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Latta, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Clarendon will square off against Scott's Branch at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Scott's Branch is on a three-game streak of home losses, East Clarendon an 11-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. As for Latta, they will head out on the road to square off against Lake View at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
