After a string of three wins, the Agua Dulce Longhorns's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell to Zapata 37-32.
Agua Dulce's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alyssa Vinton, who scored 9 points. Another player making a difference was Avery Calvez, who scored 11 points.
Agua Dulce's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Zapata, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Agua Dulce will be playing in front of their home fans against Ben Bolt at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ben Bolt is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. Zapata will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Raymondville at 6:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
