During the next week, postseason all-star games move to the forefront, headlined by the Colorado High School Coaches Association’s All-State Games. The Games, in their 54th year, will be competed June 9-12 in Greeley on the University of Northern Colorado campus.
Softball starts the week with a 3 p.m. game June 9, while all the other contests take place June 12. All-state athletes will compete in wrestling, volleyball, boys and girls basketball and football. The football game, annually the signature event, will be played at 5 p.m. at Nottingham Field.
A complete schedule for all the games can be found at the CHSCA website.
In addition to hosting the All-State Games, the CHSCA will honor, at a June 11 banquet, the winners of this year's Fred Steinmark High School Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award. The award is in its 39th year for boys and 37th for girls, and recognizes excellence in athletics, academics, citizenship and community service. Click here for a list of this year's finalists.
