The Payson Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Uintah Utes at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Payson will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.
On Tuesday, everything came up roses for Payson on the road against Mountain View as the team secured a 62-24 win.
Payson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cheznie Roundy, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Roundy hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyah Bahr, who scored ten points along with seven assists and four steals.
Meanwhile, Uintah didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Timpanogos on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 40-35 win.
Uintah had a senior duo take command as Charlee Gilroy scored four points along with five assists and three steals and Mackenzie White scored 17 points along with two steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which White has scored at least a third of Uintah's points. Another player making a difference was Zoey Glenn, who scored six points along with three steals.
Payson is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Uintah, their victory bumped their record up to 6-15.
Everything came up roses for Payson against Uintah when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 60-32 win. With Payson ahead 37-16 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
