Baseball Recap: Mitchell Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Mitchell's offense. They lost 8-0 to the East Lake Eagles on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.

Mitchell got a good showing from Andrew LaMacchia, who tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. LaMacchia also tossed a walk, which is notable because the Mustangs are 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-5 otherwise.

Mitchell's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for East Lake, their win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Mitchell will face off against Wiregrass Ranch at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East Lake, they will take on Dunedin at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
