The Arlington Tigers suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They were beaten by Bartlett 55-23. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Arlington has scored all season.
Arlington's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Zaria Moss, who scored seven points, and Cydney Hurt who scored three points along with five rebounds.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Arlington struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Bartlett racked up 14 assists.
Bartlett's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carrington Jones, who scored ten points along with three steals. Zoey Rixter was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds.
Arlington has fallen quite a ways from their 21-9 record last season and are now at 5-9. As for Bartlett, they pushed their record up to 15-8 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Arlington will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Houston at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Anna lee Avery and Moss. Bartlett's road trip will continue as they head out to face Knoxville Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on January 13th. Knoxville Catholic is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
