Mingus has won three straight games at home, while Flagstaff has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Marauders will welcome the Eagles at 3:45 p.m. Mingus is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.
On Friday, Mingus had just enough and edged out Lee Williams 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Marauders have posted against the Volunteers since March 18, 2021.
Carter Wacker was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2025.
Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Flagstaff challenged Mohave on Saturday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Thunderbirds with a sharp 22-1 victory. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by ten runs or more this season.
Will Carpenter and Teyan Clerry did most of the damage at the plate: Carpenter went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI, while Clerry went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Carpenter is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tobyn Phillips, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.
Flagstaff always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Flagstaff's win bumped their record up to 7-4-1. As for Mingus, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Mingus hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .345. However, it's not like Flagstaff struggles in that department as they've averaged .403. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Mingus might still be hurting after the 10-1 loss they got from Flagstaff in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Marauders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
