The Commerce Red Raiders''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Belchertown, falling 47-14. Commerce has struggled against Belchertown recently, as their match on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Commerce had strong showings from Brandon Cotton, who picked up 100 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Nathaniel Chacon-medina, who threw for 147 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 passes.
Commerce now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Belchertown, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Commerce is on the road again on Friday and play against Easthampton/Hampshire at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. As for Belchertown, they will take on Frontier Regional at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
