The Liberty Leopards will head out on the road to face off against the Norwayne Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Liberty had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They blew past Memorial 67-21 on the road.
Liberty relied on the efforts of Tawann Tutwiler, who threw for 156 yards and three touchdowns on only eight passes, and Dwayne Moody, who gained 160 total yards and two touchdowns. Moody's longest reception was for an incredible 72 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Chamir Franklin, who rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
Meanwhile, Norwayne took their game on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 41-7 win over Smithville. Given Norwayne's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 100th, while Smithville is ranked 476th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Norwayne to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dillon Morlock, who rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown. Mason Moyer was in the mix too, providing Norwayne with two touchdowns.
Their wins bumped Liberty to 5-5 and Norwayne to 9-1.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as the two teams haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Liberty commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 5.6 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Norwayne struggles in that department as they've been even better at 6.4 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Friday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup.
