After losing to the Parkland Mustangs the last time they met, the West Forsyth Titans decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. West Forsyth came out on top in a nail-biter against Parkland on Wednesday and snuck past 50-48.
West Forsyth found their leader in underclassman Brooklynn King, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which King has scored at least 25% of West Forsyth's points. Alexis Waters was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 11 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Parkland lost, one person who can't be blamed is Justace Williams. Despite the final result, she scored 19 points along with 5 steals. Williams scored a full 39.6% of Parkland's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Fisher, who scored 12 points along with 3 steals.
West Forsyth's win bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Parkland, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
West Forsyth's road trip will continue as they head out to face Atkins at 6:30 p.m. on December 1st. As for Parkland, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against T.W. Andrews at 6:00 p.m.
